We can even discuss past birth experiences and see what we would like to take from, learn from or change about that experience.

Second Visit- Our second visit, in addition to being an extension of the topics covered in the first visit, will be about labor comfort measures. I will teach you and your partner about the many ways to find comfort and peace as you labor. • Per your request I can take photos using your phone or camera to capture your birth and/or those first precious moments

  • I will stay with you 1-2 hours postpartum until both parents and baby are comfortable

  • I will support you in establishing breastfeeding if that is your choice

Postpartum:

  • I will provide a calm, thoughtful and experienced presence (1-2 hours) where we can talk about and process your birth experience and your transition to parenthood. I will also answer any questions you have about newborn care and postpartum adjustments. This will be available to happen by phone if desired. Additional hours are available if needed.  Photography:

  • I have a passion for making you aware of your power and ability to birth but my goodness do I LOVE to capture the intimacy of the process. I love capturing the power and will as you determine to press on. I love capturing the anxious tender looks and touch of a partner. I love capturing the bliss and release upon meeting your baby. Remembering that i am not primarily a birth photographer but a Doula, who is also skilled and passionate about capturing the birth experience, I’d love to offer this added service.

Postpartum Support

There is no time frame or limit to the need for postpartum support. My support consists of caring for the baby while you nap, spend time with older kids, have some alone time with your partner or if you need, I can keep the older kids busy and tended to while you bond with the baby. I can meal prep, do laundry, provide local resources, answer questions about newborn care and recovery, go to the grocery store for you etc. Anything that would make life and this transition easier would be my pleasure.

Hourly Rate: $40 daytime support/ $45 overnight support/$55- overnight w/ twins

Overnight/ after hour flexible time frame frames- I will feed your baby throughout the night so that you can get a full nights rest. If baby is bottle fed, I can handle everything. If baby is nursing, I will bring the baby to you when its time for baby to nurse, then proceed to burp, swaddle,  diaper change and rock the baby back to sleep while you are able to go back to sleep directly after the feeding. I will have pumps, bottles, recovery tools ready and waiting should you need it through the night. I love to do light housework, like laundry and dishes while you sleep and food/snack prep, so you can wake up feeling refreshed and ready for a new day.

Daytime Support (4 hour shift)- Along with my service descriptions above, we can discuss whether baby is latching correctly, how to use the baby carrier you have chosen or discuss alternatives etc. I will build on your knowledge and support you as you figure out what is best for your family.

Doula To Doula

$120 for up to 5 hours / $15 every additional hour- Keep your websites, social media and own mementos up to date. During births we need to be fully present and holding space for someone other than ourselves. It is in-between our births that we have the task of finding clients, networking and spreading the word for not only our own business but bringing awareness to the need of doulas in general! Let me photograph you in your element. Let me capture you as you physically hold a laboring mother, as you tenderly touch in affirmation, as you ground her with eye contact, as you share in her emotion, as you facilitate your knowledge and resources. As a fellow Doula, I am aware of the “little” things we do that make all the difference and I am able to capture them, enabling you to keep your websites, social media accounts and own personal mementos up to date. I will be on call during your on call time frame and all you have to do is call me when your’e ready for me to capture you in action!

Sibling Prep & Play

$100/1.5 hr session

As mommas we can all agree that along with the feelings that come with the arrival of a new baby are the feelings, worries and excitement over watching our first baby(ies) become older siblings. I believe that through attention, playtime and age appropriate conversation, this transition can be one that comes smoothly and naturally. I believe it can be a positive experience for the WHOLE family. During this session I will excitedly and understandingly get on their level and talk through the changes and expectations in the near future. We will read a book about becoming a big sibling and play with a doll in order to show gentle touches and “look how cute and little it is!” We will also talk about how baby will bring home a surprise for its big brother/sister and how they will soon graduate to helper! We will build up this role with a few fun “helping” games. I have successfully helped a number of families with this transition as well as the transition of 4 of my own children.

Sibling Doula Birth Support

$200 retainer + $35/hr.

I have watched my 5 children all play different roles in my labor and birth of their siblings. The role they choose to play is so personal and dependent on their personalities, their preparedness and the attention they are able to receive. I am skilled at coming in and tuning into the soon to be big brother/big sister. I will help gauge when to engage them in the process or when to give them space. I will make things playful or go for a walk. I will be sure they are fed, rested, praised and comforted. I will leave you assured that your child is cared for, nurtured, involved and that communication with extended family and continued care is completely covered so you can focus on your birth. This service includes being on call for you at 38 weeks up until birth, in communication about how your child is feeling and how i can best support them. It also includes going to you as soon as you believe my support is needed through the remainder of necessary care. Retainer is due upon contract signing and includes one meet and greet playtime with sibling ahead of time. Subsequent visits/ babysitting is available upon request at the hourly rate, to further siblings comfort level with myself.
